I had procrastinated seriously on shooting the Christmas projections at St. Mary’s Cathedral in central Sydney, and the last day I could do it was a wet, thundery Christmas day!
Ah well, so at the urging of my wife Lillian (who also wanted to shoot it) we went.
It was not too bad at the start of our shoot and there were hundreds of other people also doing the last minute thing.
We shot for an hour or so – stills and video and just as we were sort of seeing the show for the 5th or 6th time, it really came down – the storm broke and the rain poured down.
We had two choices – run for cover or have some fun.
We went for the fun!
I turned around and started shooting the audience – my Raindance moment and produced a whole bunch of exciting images – some are shown below.
Most were startled by the sight of a soaking wet guy running around with his camera shooting them, while they were busy with their cameras or phonecams recording the spectacular lights – but I got a great take.
What do you think?
